The Ohio State University Medical Center is now accepting applications for a three-CPE unit, full-time residency program (8/27/12 to 8/23/13).  Four residents work with a team of staff chaplains in this large and diverse academic medical center of research, patient care, and education.  Residents share oncall responsibilities, cover a designated clinical area for the year, and in each CPE unit choose a clinical rotation in specialty areas such as:  ICU, Palliative Care, Cardiology, ED, Oncology.  One previous accredited unit of CPE required; M.Div. preferred.  Benefits: Stipend of $30,000, health insurance, paid time off, free parking, no tuition.  On-site interview expected. Mercy St Vincent Medical Center (MSVMC), Toledo, Ohio, a 500+ bed major tertiary teaching and regional referral center for critical care, has an exciting opportunity for four full-time CPE residents to work with its dedicated Pastoral Care Staff.  Mercy St. Vincent, a member of Mercy Health Partners, sponsored by the Grey Nuns and Sisters of Mercy, has long been a leader in Northwest Ohio at providing quality medical care/education and promoting community development with a bias towards the underserved. The 3-unit residency runs 8/27/12-8/23/13.  The annual stipend is $29,000 plus benefits.  Tuition is $325.00 per unit. Indiana University Health Clinical Pastoral Education – Summer Units for 2012
  • IU Health Methodist, University, and Riley Hospitals, 05/28/12 – 08/10/12

Indiana University Health is the state’s largest tertiary/quaternary and academic health care system. You can choose from among several CPE sites for your training including, IU Health’s Methodist, University/Riley, or Bloomington hospitals. These full-time (40+ hours per week) units of CPE will help facilitate a deepening of your capacity to help others experience, as fully as possible, the reality of God’s presence and love in their lives. You will have the opportunity to learn to provide spiritual care to a variety of patients, family members and staff through on-call experiences and floor assignments.  The learning group will meet each week for devotions, verbatim seminars, didactic seminars, and inter-personal group.  You will receive credit for one unit of CPE upon completion of this learning experience and you may qualify for academic credit. We offer a variety of pastoral settings including adult and pediatric Level I trauma centers, critical care, oncology, solid organ transplantation, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient services. Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Grand Rapids, MI has an opening for a per diem Chaplain.  This per diem Chaplain will offer pastoral care to adults, children, and older adults currently inpatient at the hospital. This ministry could include any of the following duties: one-to-one visits, teaching Wellness and/or Spiritual groups with computer charting on these groups, leading Sunday worship, attending unit team meetings.
